Walkers are seen resting on the grass after crossing the finish line, during the last day of The International Four Days Marches, in Nijmegen, on July 22nd, 2022.
As the world's biggest multi-day walking event, The International Four Days Marches (in Dutch 'De Vierdaagse') is seen as the prime example of sportsmanship and international bonding between military servicemen and women and civilians from many different countries. This year, after two years of cancellations, was held again, but because of the very warm temperatures, the first day was canceled, turning the four marches into three days marches. This year, it was the 104 edition and the official amount of walkers registered was 38, 455 from 69 countries. They can choose to walk 30km, 40km, or 50km per day.
