Doorway to Women

Doorway to the Women's Building, established in 1979 as the first women-owned community centre (center) in the U.S. The organisation helps thousands of women (and their families) each year, providing access to many resources including education, employment, housing, health care, domestic violence and legal services. It also provides meeting and event space and leisure activities. The mural covers two sides of the building and is called Maestrapeace, which means Woman, Teacher if Peace. It is a collaboration of 7 female artists.
