About me

Corinna Kern is a German photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Israel.

Inclined towards the counter-cultural and non-mainstream, her work gives intimate insights into people’s lives on the margins of society, proposing a challenge to preconceived notions.

After completing her Master in Photojournalism at the University of Westminster in London in 2012, Kern was selected for a mentorship with Getty Images Reportage, followed by the Getty Images Reportage Emerging Talent Award in 2014. She then based herself in South Africa for two years to work on personal long-term projects. In 2016 she relocated to Israel where she continues to focus on people and communities of diverse cultures and backgrounds while working for international publications and photo agencies.

Her work has been exhibited at photo festivals worldwide and gained international recognition through prestigious photo contests, such as Pictures Of The Year International, NPPA Best of Photojournalism, Sony World Photography Awards, International Photography Awards, among others.

Her publications and clients include Reuters, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Stern, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Die Welt, NZZ, Bloomberg, The Guardian, and many others.
